All library books are subject to RECALL even while you are away. Please be sure to check your email for any RECALL notices. Recalled items must be returned immediately and incur fines of $4 per book per day.

The popular reading collections launched late last year at HIL and the Science and Forestry Library are proving…well, popular.  We highly recommend reading for pleasure and relaxation and invite you to visit one or both locations to stock up on great books.  You will find both fiction and non-fiction titles, as well as graphic novels.   (The collection at HIL is opposite the Film Collection on

In response to such a high demand for seating during lunchtime  the seating area  is being reserved for those eating between the hours of 11:30 am  and 2:00 pm.  This is the only area in the library where food is permitted.  We thank you for your cooperation.

Looking for a quiet place to study?  Room 310 in the Harriet Irving Library is now open as a comfortable new study area. The  room is equipped with tables and seating for approx 44.  Students are most welcome to drop by and check out the new space.
