Printing, Scanning & Photocopying

Printers, scanners, and photocopiers are available at all UNB Libraries locations. Microform reader-printers are available at the Harriet Irving Library and the Hans W. Klohn Commons. 

Standard Printing

UNB students, faculty, and staff may print from personal laptops, library laptops, and UNB login computers; however, printing requires having funds on your UCard (university ID). For more information about printing from personal laptops, visit the UNB IT Services page - Student & Personal Printing

  • black and white - 10¢/15¢ per page (single sided/double sided)
  • colour - 50¢/75¢ per page (single sided/double sided)

St. Thomas University members may print from laptops to St. Thomas printers.  Please contact STU Information Technology Services for more information.


Large Format / Poster Printing

Harriet Irving Library

The Harriet Irving Library Research Commons offers large-format printing to support students, faculty, and staff with academic and professional presentations, research posters, and more.

Print Options

  • Paper width: 36 inches
  • matte draft paper: $0.50 per inch (plus tax) by the longest length
  • matte presentation paper: $0.75 per inch (plus tax) by longest length
  • satin photo paper: $1.00 per inch (plus tax) by longest length

Processing Time

  • Please give 3-days’ notice for large format printing requests
  • Large-format printing is not done on holidays and weekends

How to Submit Your Request

Pick Up & Payment: You will receive an email with an attached invoice when your poster is ready. Payment is required upon pickup.

Hans W. Klohn Library

The Hans W. Klohn Library offers large-format printing to support students, faculty, and staff with academic and professional presentations, research posters, and more.

Posters can be printed at any size, on paper that is 42 inches wide.

The cost is $0.75 per inch (plus tax) by the longest side. For example, a poster that is 36 x 48 would cost $36 (plus tax) and a poster that is 40 x 60 would cost $45 (plus tax).

How to Submit Your Poster

  1. Prepare Your File: Ensure your poster is in PDF format and designed at the correct dimensions.
  2. Submit Your Request: Email your file to hwkcinfo@unb.ca
  3. Processing Time: Standard turnaround time is 3 days and posters are not printed on weekends. 
  4. Pick Up & Payment: You will receive a notification with an attached invoice when your poster is ready. Payment is required upon pickup.

Important Notice for Instructors: If you plan to assign a poster-printing project to your students, write to hwkcinfo@unb.ca in advance. We cannot accommodate large-volume requests and may not be able to meet deadlines if we receive too many submissions at once.


3D Printing

3D Printing is available in the Harriet Irving Library Research Commons - Fabrication Lab.

Scanning

Standard-sized Scanning

Self-service standard-sized scanning is available in all library locations at no charge.

Large-Format Scanning

Large-format scanning (up to 44" in width) is available in the Harriet Irving Library Research Commons.  Please contact Mattia Fonzo or Siobhan Hanratty for assistance.

3D Scanning

3D scanning is available in the Harriet Irving Library Research Commons - Fabrication Lab.

Photocopying

The Harriet Irving Library photocopier is located on the first floor, outside room 109.

Printing, scanning, and photocopying is available in the I.U.C. Library, the Head Hall Library, as well as the Hans W. Klohn Commons.

Photocopiers accept UCard cash only.
