Spanish Embassy Film Series (sponsored by the Spanish Embassy and the UNB Department of Culture and Language Studies) presents the film “The Grandfather” (1998, Spain, directed by José Luis Garci).
Synopsis (adapted from Imdb.com): After his son dies, an elderly man comes back to Spain from the US and hopes to find out which of his granddaughters is true, and which one is not biologically related. This film was nominated for the 1999 Oscar for Best Foreign Film and won a number of important awards in Spain.
This free screening will be presented in Spanish with English subtitles in the Harriet Irving Library’s Milham Room (Room 100) on Thursday, September 15th from 7 – 9:30 pm.  The film will be introduced briefly by Dr. Sophie M. Lavoie from the Department of Culture and Language Studies at UNB.
