Zotero Workshop – Feb. 14th

Richelle Witherspoon, from UNB Libraries, is holding an open Zotero workshop in the Harriet Irving Library, Learning Lab ( Room #112) on February 14th at 2:00 pm.  The workshop will consist of two parts:

2:00 – 3:00          Getting set up with Zotero and learning its basic features

3:00 – 3:30          Setting up and using Zotero Groups

If you are already a Zotero user and would just like to learn about Groups, feel free to skip the first hour and come at 3:00.  If you are not a Zotero user but would like to learn about Groups, you are welcome to stick around for the second part.

Business Source Ultimate

UNB Libraries have upgraded to EBSCO’s fulltext database Business Source Ultimate which includes information about accounting, finance, banking, marketing, management and provides access to:
  • 3,507 active full-text journals and magazines
  • 2,112 active full-text peer-reviewed journals
  • 1,401 active full-text peer-reviewed journals with no embargo
  • 1,103 active full-text journals indexed in Web of Science or Scopus
In addition to accessing full-text journals, business students will have access to case studies, country economic reports, industry profiles, SWOT analyses, market research reports, product reviews, company profiles, as well as interviews with executives and analysts.
 
Business Source Ultimate also offers access to 67,000 videos from the Associated Press with footage from 1930 to the present and updated monthly.   Through the Company View feature users receive detailed company information on finances, subsidiaries, products, employees and industry specifics for more than 1.1 million of the world’s largest public and private companies.

UNB Libraries Closing Early On Dec. 20th

Please be advised that UNBF Libraries (HIL, Science & Forestry, Engineering & Computer Science, & South Gym) will be closing at 2:45pm on, December 20th for a holiday staff party. The Law  Library is not affected.

Regular hours will resume on Dec 21st.

The Eileen Wallace Children’s Literature Collection Presents The 2017-18 Wallace Fellowship Lecture – Dec. 5th

Dr. Helene Staveley, this year’s Eileen Wallace Research Fellow, will be presenting a talk entitled, “At Play in the Atlantic Playground: Children and Communities in the Maritime Books of the Eileen Wallace Children’s Literature Collection.” Dr. Staveley is a lecturer at Memorial University with research interests in Canadian, Atlantic Canadian and Children’s & Young Adult Literature.

The talk will take place in the Eileen Wallace Children’s Literature Collection, Room 413, Harriet Irving Library, Tuesday December 5th, at noon.

All are welcome to attend.

Our Fredericton Libraries are offering extended hours prior to and during the upcoming exam period.  Hours are listed below:

Monday – Saturday 7:30 am – Midnight
Sunday 10:00 am – Midnight

SCIENCE & FORESTRY LIBRARY (Nov 25 – Dec 18)
Monday – Saturday 8:00 am – Midnight
Sunday 11:00 am – Midnight

ENGINEERING & COMPUTER SCIENCE LIBRARY (Nov 25 – Dec 18)
Monday – Saturday 8:00 am – Midnight
Sunday 11:00 am – Midnight

Closing hours will change for the last exam day, please check at individual libraries.

Flu Clinic @ HIL

Flu Season is here!

Get your flu vaccine at the HIL Flu Clinic:

When:  Wednesday, November 8th, 2017

10:00am – 2:00pm

Where:  Reading Room (Rm. 109), Harriet Irving Library, UNBF

Cost:  $15 for students, $25 for faculty and staff

Cash or cheque only  – due at the time of the injection.

Please note that you will be required to wait for 20 minutes following your injection for your own safety!

In addition to the HIL Flu Clinic, flu shots are now available at the Student Health Centre and at one of the following clinics on campus:

• Thursday, Nov 2nd: 10:00am – 2:00pm at SUB Cafeteria

• Friday, Nov 3rd: 10:00am – 2:00pm at Head Hall – Gillin Hall GD117

• Thursday, Nov 9th: 10:00am – 2:00pm at Ludlow Hall, Room 26

• Wednesday, Nov 15th: 10:00am – 2:00pm at Human Resources dept., Room 106 – near HR in Physics and Admin. building

• Thursday, Nov 16th: 10:00am – 2:00pm at UNB Bookstore

• Friday, Nov 17th: 10:00am – 2:00pm at STU –  J.B. O’Keefe Fitness Centre

Cost: $15 for students, $25 for staff and faculty.

Some people may qualify for free flu immunization.

We can only accept cash or cheque at the time of the injection!

Be prepared to wait 20 minutes AFTER your injection.
