UNB Libraries is now providing access to OECD iLibrary. This online library features its books, papers and statistics and is the gateway to OECD’s analysis and data. OECD Books and Papers covers all OECD’s published (ISBN/ISSN) monographs, journals, statistical annuals and periodicals available online in 17 subject themes. The main texts are accessed as PDFs, whilst related tables are in XLS, PDF or HTML.OECD Statistics provides online access to all OECD’s published data, irrespective of format. It includes the dynamic interactive databases, as well as the statistical annuals and periodicals in PDF format, and their related tables in XLS, PDF and HTML.

UNB Libraries is excited to host the student photography exhibition, In Focus, which will run from February to April 2019. The exhibit, on display on the main floor of the Harriet Irving Library, was created by third-year students of Renaissance College as part of the course “Images and Insights”.

The exhibit is free and open to the public.

New Brunswick Historical Newspapers Online provides free, online access to selected historical newspapers (primarily pre-1940) from UNB Libraries collections, digitized by the Libraries’ Centre for Digital Scholarship. New content will be added on an ongoing basis, to create a truly unique resource for the study of New Brunswick history.

Careful planning for managing your research data has never been more important! Find out more about how UNB Libraries’ Research Data Management Services can help. In this session, we’ll explain how research data are different from other datasets and discuss issues, as well as opportunities for data sharing and dissemination. We’ll highlight new and upcoming Tri-Agency requirements regarding research data management planning and data deposit and provide a brief overview of the role of Portage Network, a national initiative to develop research data management services and infrastructure.

Scholarly Publishing is increasingly evolving. Navigating these shifts can be overwhelming. Researchers are being asked to consider open access. Bad faith publishers and vanity presses are preying on folks under pressure to publish. Funding bodies are requiring more public access to publications and research data. And, on top of it all, researchers have more ways to connect with their communities of practice than ever before. There are an overwhelming amount of ways to share your work. This session addresses some of these trends in publishing, intellectual property, and scholarly profiles.

Please note that Registration closes on March 20, 2019 for the full-day for the full-day New Brunswick Bibliography Symposium  to be held Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton.  Subtitled Embarkation, Setting Sail, the symposium will bring together scholars, librarians, archivists, and others interested in bibliography and book history, and in the preservation of the published heritage of New Brunswick.  The symposium will offer a varied program of speakers on current and prospective research, will review developments since the first symposium (held March 2018), and will consider next steps on the journey.   The keynote address at this event will be delivered by Tony Tremblay, Professor of English and Canada Research Chair in New Brunswick Studies at St. Thomas University.
