UNB Libraries is pleased to announce that online access is now available to an excellent new electronic reference tool — Literature Criticism Online (LCO).

LCO provides online access to the content of the following literature reference tools:
Twentieth-Century Literary Criticism, Nineteenth-Century Literature Criticism, Literature Criticism 1400-1800, Shakespeare Criticism, Contemporary Literary Criticism, and Children

UPDATED – Limited Service @ UNB Libraries

Physical Plant & IT Services have scheduled an electrical power outage this Saturday (March 15, 2008) in Head Hall between 6:00am to 11:00pm.

The Harriet Irving and Science & Forestry libraries will remain open during the outage.

Our Engineering Library will be closed.

The outage will affect a variety of IT-related services across the campus. Please see the following list for details relating to library services:

Services that WILL work:

  • Quest Library Catalogue
  • E-resources and the library website
  • Commons Service Desk
  • Document Delivery (inter-library loan)
  • Personally-owned laptops
  • Proxy server
  • Debit card/photocopy card printing
  • Library Web Pages

Services that WILL NOT work:

  • All Novell Login computers (incl. HIL Learning Commons PCs)
  • Library loaner laptops
  • UNB email
  • Datatel applications
  • My UNB e-Services
  • Print Credits from student accounts
  • All UNB webpages
  • Access to computer labs (campus-wide)

UNB Libraries has added several excellent new electronic Reference tools to assist with your research needs:

BLACKWELL REFERENCE ONLINE:
“A vast new online library giving instant access to the most authoritative and up-to-date scholarship across the humanities and social sciences. With more than 350 reference volumes to be published in Blackwell Reference Online by the end of 2008, it is the largest academic reference collection available online and includes the critically-acclaimed Blackwell Companions and Handbooks, major reference works such as the Blackwell Encyclopedia of Management and the Companion to Syntax, and a whole host of other valuable reference materials such as dictionaries, encyclopedias and concise companions.”
