Quality Counts In Library Service

This news post is more than one year old. Some information may have changed.

Excellence in service quality has always been a goal of UNB Libraries. In an effort to measure the effectiveness of the services our libraries provide to the UNB and St. Thomas communities, UNB Libraries is participating in a web-based library service quality survey known as LibQUAL+TM.

The online survey, which runs from March 10 – April 10, is part of a North American initiative led by the Association of Research Libraries designed to define and measure library service quality across institutions. In 2004, over 200 institutions, representing some of the largest research libraries in the world, are participating in the LibQUAL+TM project.

On March 10, faculty, staff and students from both the UNB and STU communities received an invitation to participate and complete the online survey.

The data we obtain from the surveys will provide UNB Libraries with essential information about areas needing improvement in the view of our patrons.

The ultimate goal of the project is to better serve our library users in their efforts to reach their learning and research objectives and effectively manage information resources.

If you require more information about the survey, please contact James MacKenzie at libqual@unb.ca or 447-3075.
