HIL’s New Ramp – Think Access 2006

This news post is more than one year old. Some information may have changed.

In an effort to improve accessibility to the Harriet Irving Library (HIL), a new barrier free ramp will be constructed this Summer. View an artist’s interpretation of the finished ramp.

Special thanks go to UNB’s Graduating Class of 2006 for their contributions to the “Think Access 2006” project.

Construction is slated to begin on Monday, June 5, and will be completed by (approximately) the end of July 2006.

Work will result in a temporary sidewalk relocation adjacent to the parking lot and in front of HIL. At this same time, there will be repairs made to the front entrance of HIL making it necessary to enter the building from the rear. Signs will be posted to this effect when the work commences on the front entrance.

We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause and thank you for your patience.

If you have any questions or concerns about the construction, please contract Ron Shaddick through the Physical Plant work centre at 453-4889 or pplant@unb.ca.
