This news post is more than one year old. Some information may have changed.

Are you looking for a great part-time job? UNB Libraries hires about 50 students a year, with positions in each of our libraries and in most departments. A job at the library is convenient, pays better than many part-time jobs, and provides terrific opportunities to build your employment skills. Your shifts will be scheduled around your classes and the needs of the department. Returning student assistants are offered an increase in pay and responsibility.

It’s easy to apply! Just complete the application form, indicating which position(s) you’re applying for. We welcome all applications, but will only contact those selected for an interview. The application deadline for fall positions is August 15th at 4pm.

Positions are potentially available in the following departments and areas:

  • Science and Forestry Library
  • Archives and Special Collections
  • Microforms
  • Center for Digital Scholarship (Electronic Text Center)
  • Harriet Irving Library Research Help Desk (seeking graduate students) – Please note alternate application deadline is August 8th.

Library Web Service Outage – July 27

This news post is more than one year old. Some information may have changed.

A planned power outage (coordinated by Facilities Management) at the Harriet Irving Library will occur this coming Sunday, July 27, from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Please be aware that the outage will make unavailable the library website, e-resources, and any services requiring authentication (eg. reserves and the library’s proxy server). For basic catalogue searching, UNB WorldCat will remain available (visit //unb.worldcat.org/), but any links to electronic resources within will be inaccessible for the duration of the outage

Library Systems is prepared for the outage and will be ready to restart servers once power is stable. Access should be restored after 2:00 PM.
