All library books are subject to RECALL even while you are away. Please be sure to check your email for any RECALL notices. Recalled items must be returned immediately and incur fines of $4 per book per day.

The popular reading collections launched late last year at HIL and the Science and Forestry Library are proving…well, popular.  We highly recommend reading for pleasure and relaxation and invite you to visit one or both locations to stock up on great books.  You will find both fiction and non-fiction titles, as well as graphic novels.   (The collection at HIL is opposite the Film Collection on the ground floor.)

We invite donations for these collections.  We are looking particularly for recent trade paperbacks in “like new” condition.  We will also accept hardcover books with dust jackets.

In response to such a high demand for seating during lunchtime  the seating area  is being reserved for those eating between the hours of 11:30 am  and 2:00 pm.  This is the only area in the library where food is permitted.  We thank you for your cooperation.

The Department of English and the Harriet Irving Library present the International Film History Screening Series.

This series features significant films from across the world.  Screenings take place in the Milham Room (100) in the Harriet Irving Library.

Showtime is at 6:00 PM.  Admission is free.
