The language of film speaks to us on many levels. Evocative, engaging, visceral, film brings to life worlds of experience that other media can merely suggest. As such, documentary and feature films, in whole or in part, can play vital roles in teaching and research across all disciplines.

Come along to a session that will offer you an introduction to UNB Libraries’ film collection and the issues attending the use of film for research and instruction. The session is scheduled for Thursday, Feb 25, from 2:30 – 3:20pm.

Scope Out Scopus – Feb. 23

Scopus is one of our best general purpose resources for searching for publications relating to Science, Technology and Medicine, and there is increasing coverage of social sciences too!

Sign up for a session on Tuesday, Feb. 23 and learn how to search Scopus and to refine your results to get to the articles you need. The session runs from 10:00 am – 11:20 am.

RefWorks Sessions – Book Now!

Introductory RefWorks tutorials will be offered in Harriet Irving Library’s Learning Lab on the following dates:

* Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1:00pm – 3:00pm
* Monday, Feb. 22, 9:30am – 11:30am

RefWorks is a tool for tracking the literature used in your research and assignments. Tutorials explain how to create and manage an account, import citations from research databases, and use the product to add references to your papers in the citation style of your choice.

Iranian Film Series – Thursday Evenings

UNB Libraries along with the Departments of English and Culture & Language Studies invite students, staff and faculty to an Iranian film series on Thursday evenings.

Screenings will take place in the Milham Room (Room 100) in the Harriet Irving Library. Showtime is 6:00 PM. Admission is free.

The schedule will feature films by contemporary Iranian directors on the following dates:

February 25 – TBA
