Pizza & Plagiarism – Oct. 29 & 30

The pizza is free and the workshop just might prove to be invaluable!

Where: Harriet Irving Library – Seminar Room (Room 109)
Time: 7-9pm

These free student workshops will provide general academic writing and citation tips, with a focus on how the APA style handles the citation of e-sources, plus some hands-on automatic formatting using QuickBib and Refworks.

PLEASE NOTE: Spaces are limited and students must pre-register at: //unb.ca/ctd/ (sessions are listed under the title “Pizza & Plagiarism”)

Sessions are a cooperative effort between UNB Libraries and the Student Union

Film Collection Workshop – Oct. 28

The session will offer an introduction to the library’s film collection and look at the issues surrounding the role and the use of films for teaching and research. All faculty, students, and staff are welcome.

SciFinder Scholar Sessions – Oct. 27 & 28

The Science & Forestry Library is offering a session about SciFinder Scholar (the search software used to access Chemical Abstracts) on Monday, October 27 from 1:30 – 3:30pm in Geology 106.

This hands-on session will cover the basics of searching Chemical Abstracts, the CAS Registry and CAS reacts databases. The session will also provide an introduction to structure searching.  

There will be a repeat of the session on Tuesday, October 28 from 9:00 – 11:00 am in Geology 106.

As space is limited, pre-registration is required at //training.unb.ca and sessions are identified as Sci-Lib02 or Sci-Lib03.
