Single Searching Simplified

This news post is more than one year old. Some information may have changed.

UNB Libraries is testing a new discovery tool (called SingleSearch) in our library Subject Guides during the 2006/2007 academic year.

SingleSearch is a cutting edge delivery platform that allows users to search several library databases, e-Journal collections, and e-Reference sources simultaneously. A variety of results are returned and users can link directly to the fulltext, if available, via the UNB Libraries’ Resolver.

You can take SingleSearch for a test-drive by choosing a Subject Guide from the following webpage and typing a search into the SingleSearch box(es) provided:

//www.lib.unb.ca/help/how/subject.php

It is important to note that SingleSearch is NOT intended to replace our research databases, instead it offers an alternative means of accessing resources and emphasizes breadth over depth.

We would appreciate any feedback and will continue to conduct user-testing throughout the academic year to refine the product. Please feel free to contact Marc Bragdon (mbragdon@unb.ca) if you have any questions.
