The new 2004 Eileen Wallace Children’s Literature Collection wall calendar showcases the depth of the library’s holdings in children’s literature.
Entitled Allow Me to Illustrate, the calendar contains noteworthy illustrations from picture books held in the CLC, special collections and archives, and the circulating collection of children’s material held on the fourth floor of Harriet Irving Library.
The project was directed by Sue Fisher and Lesley Balcom, but reflects a greater collaboration with Mary Flagg of special collections and archives, Marc Bragdon, Jenn Hanotte and Mike Meade of the Electronic Text Centre’s imaging centre and the members of the Eileen Wallace Collection’s Advisory Committee. Thanks also should be extended to John Teskey, Karen Kilfillen, and Toni Thompson.
The final product is beautiful in design, rich in reproduction, and representative of the broad diversity of the library’s holdings in children’s literature. The calendars make great gifts for numerous occasions.
You can see the calendars in the reference office of the Harriet Irving Library. The contact is Toni Thompson via email or by phone at 453-4749
They are on sale for $12, tax included, or three for $30. Over the coming weeks, the calendars will also be available at the University Bookstore and Westminster Books.
