The newest data file from the Statistics Canada/Academic Libraries Data Liberation Initiative is the Canadian Community Health Survey. Data were collected from over 130,000 respondents aged 12 or older in Canadian provinces and territories, and the survey data includes information on a wide range of topics: alcohol consumption, chronic health conditions, exposure to second hand smoke, fruit and vegetable consumption, general health, home care, use of health services, height and weight, injuries, physical activity, restriction of activities and smoking. The survey data and documentation are available through the Government Documents, Data and Maps Department: Data Services web page under “Data Files Available for Downloading”. Note that licensing conditions do apply to this and other DLI data files. For further information, contact Elizabeth Hamilton.
