APA Style Guide – Electronic References

This news post is more than one year old. Some information may have changed.

The American Psychological Association (APA) has recently published a new APA Style Guide to Electronic References. The new guide is a revised and updated version of Section 4.16 from the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (Fifth Edition).

UNB Libraries has purchased a site license for the new electronic PDF guide. It is available from the library website under e-Resources >> Reference Materials and via the Quest Catalogue (simply search for APA). A paper copy is also available in the Harriet Irving Library’s Learning Commons near the Research Help Desk (HIL-REFDSK BF76.7 .A63 2007).

A summary of major changes from the 2001 manual is available on the library’s new APA Citation Style Examples sheet.

The library’s former APA examples website/sheet will also remain available for those who do not wish to convert to the new style in the middle of the academic year.

Curtain Rising On Library Film Collection

This news post is more than one year old. Some information may have changed.

Did you know that UNB Libraries has a film collection that consists of over 1300 documentary and feature films in DVD or VHS format? Films in our collection support the instructional needs of faculty at UNB Fredericton and Saint Thomas University.

During our 1st floor renovations, the bulk of our film collection was moved temporarily to the closed basement stacks in the Harriet Irving Library. The film collection is soon to return to the 1st floor; even better, it will become a fully browsable collection.

In our initial test phase, we are showcasing approximately fifty films that highlight a range of topics, directors, and genres represented in the overall collection. These 50 titles are located on the left side of the first floor hallway in Harriet Irving Library (just before the Learning Lab – Room 112).

Faculty and students are welcome to browse these titles and sign them out at the Learning Commons Service Desk for a one week loan.

We are also requesting your feedback; please feel free to send your comments to Marc Bragdon, AV Librarian at mbragdon@unb.ca
