UNB Libraries is proud to participate in Fair Dealing Week, a national initiative spearheaded by The University of Toronto, that aims to facilitate conversations about fair dealing across Canada during February 23rd to 27th. This initiative is a Canadian response to The Association of Research Libraries’ Fair Use Week. Fair Dealing is an important exception within The Canadian Copyright Act, available to students, educators, and educational institutions sharing short excerpts of copyright-protected content. Fair Dealing evaluation is also a major pillar of the in-house copyright clearance system at UNB Libraries. To learn more about fair dealing at the University of New Brunswick, see the UNB Libraries’ copyright pages. Watch the UNB Libraries’ submission to Fair Dealing Week here!
