UNB Libraries is pleased to announce the availability of a new database called ARTstor. ARTstor is a non-profit initiative, founded by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, with a mission to use digital technology to enhance scholarship, teaching and learning in the arts and associated fields.
The ARTstor collection currently contains a repository of over 300,000 images. The collection documents artistic traditions across many times and cultures and embraces architecture, painting, sculpture, photography, decorative arts, and design as well as many other forms of visual culture. Images are drawn from different sources, such as museums, archaeological teams, photo archives, slide libraries, and art reference publishers.
To take ARTstor for a test-drive, from UNB Libraries’ homepage, select e-Resources >> Indexes and Abstracts >> and select ARTstor from the drop down “Browse by Title” menu.
Please address any questions or comments about ARTstor to Leanne Wells (firstname.lastname@example.org or 447-3075).
