By accessing Google Scholar as a UNB Libraries user, you benefit from technology that lets on-campus and off-campus users connect directly to full-text articles in journals to which UNB has access. Just click on the Check for Fulltext @ UNB link on the right-side in the Google result list. If that link is absent, then users can try the blue Title link and/or the equivalent right-side link to see about Open Access content.
To discover UNB Libraries' holding on-campus or off-campus through Google Scholar, use the following steps:
- Follow link above or go to https://scholar.google.com/ to ensure bypassing the proxy login.
- Click the three lines in the top left corner.
- Click Settings.
- Click Library Links.
- Search for University of New Brunswick, check the box next to the result, and save your settings. You can now continue to search and should see the Check for Fulltext @ UNB links next to articles and books to which we have access.
In the Google Scholar search results, the Check for Fulltext @ UNB link is offered for access to UNB's holdings – follow this link to ensure authenticated access to UNB Libraries’ subscribed/purchased content.
Users will be prompted for the off-campus proxy login when they click View Full Text after following the Check for Fulltext @ UNB link to our resolver’s results.
When available, search results in Google Scholar will provide direct links to provider sites for Open Access content. There will also be non-proxied direct provider links to our subscribed/purchased content offered, but these will not work when off-campus.
