Mattia Fonzo

Manager, Harriet Irving Research Commons
UNB Fredericton

I am the manager of the newly renovated Harriet Irving Library Research Commons, located on the third floor of the Harriet Irving Library.

My research interests include interdisciplinary work in biological anthropology, forensic anthropology and archaeoparasitology. I was a part of the UNB Bioarchaeology Field school excavation and research team from 2017-2019. This project focused on excavating and analyzing individuals interred at the Fortress of Louisbourg that are being impacted by coastal erosion. I have been a teaching and research assistant, and course instructor in the Anthropology department since 2017. You can find me in the Research Commons (office 316A). I am happy to meet with students, staff, and faculty, in-person or virtually, to provide tours and discuss how the spaces available in the Research Commons can be of use in your ongoing research projects, student groups, or classroom teaching.
