Event/Occasion/Significance: Chain cutting ceremony to commemorate the donation of the Atlantic Fabricator Members of the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CISC) to the department of civil engineering at the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton.

Notes: Present at the Chain cutting ceremony were Dale Robertson, chairman of the Atlantic Regional Committee of the CISC, and Eric Garland, associate vice-president (administration) of UNB. The $12,000 structure, a permanent fixture on the UNB campus, served as a teaching aid for engineering students as to how structural steel shapes operate to construct the framework of buildings, towers, bridges, and other structures. The structure is four meters high and is made of steel.
