The Engineering and Computer Science Library is located in Head Hall at room C-15. Open to all members of the UNB community, its services and sources are specialized for those in the faculties of Computer Science and Engineering.
Seating in the library is split between a Reading Room with carrels, and a Study Hall with tables of assorted sizes. As well as providing quiet study space, the Reading Room is home to our daily newspapers along with current issues of academic journals. Our main area of shelving for books and older copies of journals is located in the Study Hall. There are two group study rooms available for booking online. UNB’s wireless network is available throughout and can be used by either personal or library loaned laptops. A limited number of wired ethernet connection ports are available. Power outlets are available in many parts of the library.
We provide PCs and laptops primarily for student use. There are a small number of general purpose ‘express’ PCs, intended for patrons needing brief use of a PC to access on-line library resources or for general internet access. Photocopying, scanning and printing are also available.
Special collections housed in the library are graduate theses from Computer Science and Engineering, and Senior Reports (final year undergraduate theses). The library retains extensive research report holdings from Canadian and international research organizations in addition to subject specific books, dictionaries, encyclopaedias, handbooks and journals. Conference proceedings and Technical Standards are other important categories of material that we have available. Visitors should note that our collection includes electronic publications, representing a substantial body of information complementing the material on display at the library. All our materials are recorded in UNB WorldCat, the library catalogue.
