Observation
Third

A perspective shift; we see the researcher's eye as they observe the results of an experiment. A box is used to block out all other light to make the results clearer - it also serves to limit the researcher's view to only the single eye. This research focuses on two things that are difficult to 'see' - the first being DNA, which is difficult to see due to its microscopic nature, and even more difficult when extracted from 250-year old subjects. However, DNA may be a way to 'see' more clearly something more elusive: the remnants that stressful life events leave behind on the body. Sometimes, stress can leave behind physical marks on bone that can be seen with the naked eye, but we know that the stress is there long before it's visible. What if we could 'see' this stress in the evidence it leaves behind in the DNA?
