Nels Anderson Lecture Series

The Nels Anderson Lecture Series was established by the Dept. of Sociology in 2008 to commemorate the 85th anniversary of the publication of Anderson’s classic ethnography, The Hobo. The annual lectures are devoted to the ethnographic study of social life. The inaugural lecture, by Gary Alan Fine, was held at Qualitatives 2008.

Dr. Nels Anderson (1889-1986) was a long-standing faculty member of the Department of Sociology at UNB (1965-1977).
