Desmond Pacey Memorial Lectures

The W.C. Desmond Pacey Memorial Lectures were established in 1981 in to honour the memory and achievements of Dr. Desmond Pacey, a UNB professor and administrator who died in 1975. Among many other activities, Pacey was chair of the Department of English at UNB, acting Dean of the Faculty of Arts, and a leader in Canadian literary history and criticism. He wrote or edited more than twenty books and thirty short stories, published some seventy scholarly articles, and compiled several important literary anthologies.

The Desmond Pacey Lecture series is presented by leading figures in humanities and social sciences and is usually held at both Fredericton and Saint John campuses.
