Established: 1999-2000
History: The development of the Renaissance College was made possible through a proposal to the J.W. McConnell Family Foundation in 1998. It was the cornerstone of a larger renewal initiative (Renaissance New Brunswick) for UNB. When the College was established in 1999, it became Canada's first Leadership Studies Bachelor Program. The College is presently staffed by UNB faculty and visiting scholars and enrolls approximately 20 to 25 students each year.
UA PC 9 no. 22 (1).
Renaissance College is UNB’s School of Interdisciplinary Leadership Studies and was first initiative of its kind in Canada.
Notes: Renaissance College is an interdisciplinary leadership studies program, dedicated to enriching people’s capability for understanding and demonstrating leadership through innovative teaching methods, rigorous academic content, and experiential learning in small classes.
