Francis Nicholas & his Son Louis Francis
state that they wish to complete the
Bargain proposed by the Petition presented
by the Comr. in June last namely to
give them a Tract of four miles square beginning
one mile below the Tobique and extending on
the River St John three miles, above it and
in the Interior to the [Poquioc] or four miles.
They state that the Tobique Indians consist
of 38 Families and about 170 Persons.
a Tract of four miles square would contain
10240 acres and would give to each Family
nearly 270 acres. a Quantity quite beyond
what they have occasion for.
