Close Quarters

There is not always a lot of room on fishing boats to fit in the biologist, so we find room where we can. In this picture you can see a science station set up for lobster tagging on the last day of the lobster season. The fisher from Deer Island, New Brunswick collected his traps back onto his boat to take to shore. At the same time the biologist was tagging lobster with tags to look at the movement patterns within the Bay of Fundy. Each lobster was fitted with a tag and was released back into the water to be caught again in future seasons.
