Coding as a Biologist

Biological research is largely computational, especially genetics and genomics. Using different software, R packages, scripting languages, and best of all, file types, results in a lot of troubleshooting. I chose to bring to light the most common and realistic theme of my work: coding errors. This is what I spent the most time staring at through my master's. Here is a collage of some errors and issues I spent the most time troubleshooting. Some of it is specific to genomics, but most of it is simple things like scripts not being able to open a file or me forgetting to type a comma and dealing with horribly long file names.
