PARTICIPATORY FILMMAKING: A CASE STUDY

Dr. Matt Rogers, Assistant Professor, UNB For this presentation, Dr. Rogers will share information about his current research partnership with the Muriel McQueen Fergusson Centre, which is focused on addressing cyber-violence with youth through participatory filmmaking.

Dr. Matt Rogers is an Assistant Professor in the UNB Faculty of Education and an Atlantic Canadian Filmmaker. His research focuses on youth-centered participatory filmmaking and documentary inquiry as a knowledge mobilization tool. Dr. Rogers’ personal film work, through the production company Frictive Pictures, has been internationally recognized with awards and nominations cinematography, editing, writing, and direction. Recently, he won Best Short Film Director for his film “a list,” at the Global Cinema Film Festival of Boston.
