Canadian Literary Periodicals Index Calls It Quits

This news post is more than one year old. Some information may have changed.

UNB Libraries has been notified that the Canadian Literary Periodicals Index (CLPI) has ceased its service and is no longer available.

CLPI provided access to most Canadian primary materials (poems, short stories, novels, plays and literary essays), and to most Canadian secondary materials (critical articles, book reviews, interviews and bibliographies) in the field of Canadian literature.

Patrons who used CLPI should note that UNB Libraries offer excellent alternatives:

  • Annual Bibliography of English Language and Literature (ABELL)
  • Modern Language Association (MLA) Bibliography
  • Literature Online (LION)

To take ABELL or MLA for a test-drive, from UNB Libraries’ homepage, select e-Resources >> Indexes and Abstracts >> and select either from the drop down “Browse by Title” menu.

LION is currently available through the “Reference Materials” page of the UNB Libraries website (select “Literature” from the list of categories).

Please address any questions to the Liaison Librarian for English, James MacKenzie at jmackenz@unb.ca or 458-7058.
