Currently the UNB Libraries website provides duplicated access to the Elsevier and Academic Press e-journals. Please note that as of August 1, access to Elsevier e-journals through Scholars Portal will be phased out and we will rely solely on access through Science Direct. If you have bookmarks for Scholar’s Portal, these should be updated to the new SD URLs.
We hope this move will eliminate one complication for our users: which access to choose? Furthermore, access through ScienceDirect provides a number of benefits, amongst them:
- full access to all subscribed titles and features of ScienceDirect; and
- better full-text linking from other sources and databases (including Web of Science, EBSCOhost and Compendex).
All Elsevier and Academic Press journals can already be accessed on SD, as well as 140 Elsevier health science titles which will be added to our e-journals database this summer. Visit Elsevier’s ScienceDirect on the web.
We are grateful to the University of Toronto and Ontario Consortium of University Libraries (OCUL) for allowing us to obtain access to Elsevier titles through their network these last six years. This arrangement has been of immeasurable benefit to UNB.
