Introducing Oxford Reference Online

This news post is more than one year old. Some information may have changed.

Oxford Reference Online: The Core Collection contains about 100 dictionary, language reference, and subject reference works published by Oxford University Press. Covering the humanities and social sciences, science and medicine, Oxford Reference Online is a fully-indexed, cross-searchable database of these books, giving users access to a comprehensive information resource.

Access to this resource is made possible through a collaboration between UNB Libraries and the College of Extended Learning. The CEL has provided initial funding for the 2-to-5 simultaneous user licence.

Oxford Reference Online is expected to be a welcome addition to the range of electronic resources now accessible from the library website, and particularly useful to distance students who cannot visit the library. The kind of information only available in dictionary-type materials has been traditionally difficult to provide to off-campus students and faculty. This is another step toward providing equitable access to the entire UNB community, wherever they may be located.
