Trouble Ticket #5340

Date Submitted: 2017-03-09

Title of e-Resource: Canadiana.org

Nature of the Problem: Worldcat

Details: This may be a question for Merle, or perhaps even Lesley.

Many of the titles that have been digitized and made available through Canadiana.org indicate "Publisher not identified" and the place of publication in often followed by ?.  In fact, when I open up the file, I find that that both place and publisher are clearly identified.  I have come across literally hundreds of such incomplete records.  Not sure that's a UNB problem, but not sure how to bring it to the attention to those who might be able to fix this.  As I save the records to Zotero, I am adding that information for my own bibliographical work.  But I'm sure the problem is much bigger than the titles I am finding.  It looks like this may be a shortcut taken by Canadiana to get the project done.  I wonder if Canadiana could make it a special project to add that information to their records?
