Scope and content: This series consists of personal items such as certificates, diplomas, membership cards, art history lecture notes, material relating to the National Film Board, creative writing projects, notes on a visit to Newfoundland, and notes for a talk entitled "Arts as Communication." One file contains correspondence related to the art work done by Lucy Jarvis as a contribution to the 1980 tribute to Fred Cogswell by the Wombat Press. This series also  includes four (4) tape recordings of story telling sessions or recitations, perhaps by Atwood Lewis and Lucy Jarvis.

             presenting these films. Newspaper clipping of report of the visit to UNB Art Centre by
             NFB's John Grierson. Also includes film list from Canadian Film Institute, Ottawa, 1953.

File 7   Woodcut for scroll for Fred Cogswell tribute, Wombat Press, June 1980

            Includes woodcut template and correspondence regarding the cover art supplied by Lucy
            Jarvis for the Wombat Press tribute scroll to Cogswell on the occasion of his retirement in
            1980 as publisher of Fiddlehead Poetry Books. Only 200 copies of the scroll and
            accompanying envelope with the fiddlehead motif were printed. Jarvis did the original
            design of a fiddlehead for the eponymous magazine established in 1945. File contains two
            (2) poems by Don Gammon, an early Fiddlehead editor.

File 8* Four (4) 8mm audio reels including recitations by a male voice - may be
            Atwood Lewis, a NS man mentioned in some letters and known to Lucy Jarvis as
            a story teller. He lived nearby in an old school bus for about a decade and was a
            war veteran. Mr. Lewis was nicknamed "Pirate" as he had lost a leg.
