Exporting / Importing: Directions

With RefWorks, you can export/import citations directly from most of the indexing/abstracting databases and many electronic journal collections offered through UNB Libraries. See Getting your References into RefWorks from the RefWorks Tutorial for more information. Export/import directions for specific databases are provided below, or use the Database Index to select a database.

Import Filter

  1. Perform a search and mark the records you want by clicking the checkboxes.
  2. Click Export.
  3. Select Text File in the Export To section.
  4. Navigate to the local drive and directory where you want to save the file.
  5. Log into RefWorks.
  6. Select References/Import from the toolbar.
  7. Select OCLC FirstSearch as the data source and select the appropriate database.
  8. Browse to find the text file you saved on your computer.
  9. Click import.
  10. Your records should appear in your Last Imported Folder.
