MLA (Sixth Edition): Citation Style Examples

Note on underlining: Because fonts may vary from computer, the MLA advises using underlining in place of italics. Different professors may prefer the use of italics over the use of underlining, so it is best to check with them prior to handing in your bibliography.

Electronic Sources

The order of elements in an electronic source's citation is similar to that of print citations, but typically requires additional information including the date on which the source was accessed and the internet address (URL). Each electronic source (i.e.; e-journal, e-resource, government document available via the Internet) may require slightly different information, depending on the source. Please refer to the MLA Handbook for additional guidance and information.
