DLI Data Files
UNB Libraries provides access to DLI data files suitable for use with statistical packages such as SPSS or SAS,
in several different ways. Whenever possible, UNB Libraries makes DLI files available for download (see below). For those who may wish to work with subsets of data files, UNB Libraries patrons have access to two useful services provided other DLI institutions:
-
Equinox, a service of Western University and CREPUQ, provides access to many of the Beyond 20/20 tables and subsetting of DLI Public Use Microdata Files (PUMFs) under the same licence conditions.
Equinox is also useful for finding specific variables, using the "variable description" search option.
- The Census Analyser from the
University of Toronto's Computing in the Social Sciences and Humanities (CHASS) allows users to subset variables from
the Individual Microdata Files (public use microdata files).
Researchers who wish to explore further analysis using confidential (master) files from longitudinal surveys may contact
the Research Data Centre to discuss eligibility for data use under the RDC program.

All files are Statistics Canada public use microdata files made available though UNB Libraries partnership in the
Data Liberation Initiative (DLI) and, as such, use of these
files is subject to the constraints of the DLI licence. Comments or questions regarding
the surveys and their use should be directed to the UNB Libraries Data Librarian, rather than to the developers and providers
of the software.
