The UNB Libraries provides access for authorized users to ICPSR and ROPER data files, suitable for use with statistical packages such as SPSS or SAS, as well as files through cooperative agreements with other data producers. All files must be used within the constraints of the applicable license.

The files listed below are available for downloading in their entirety. For more information on the survey, related documentation and data file availability, click on one of the following links. In addition to the files listed below, files listed on the ICPSR site may be requested by authorized users of UNB Libraries through ICPSR Direct, or by contacting the ICPSR Official Representative at UNB Libraries.

Note that as a member institution of an ICPSR Federation, authorized users of UNB Libraries are eligible for subsidies at ICPSR for courses. See the training and education programs on the ICPSR site or send an email with the subject heading "UNB/ICPSR program" to Elizabeth Hamilton for further information.

ROPER POLLS

The Roper Center is the largest archives of public opinion information in North America and includes popular opinion surveys such as Gallup Polls. The catalogue permits searching by keyword, date, country, and survey organization. The catalogue of data sets available for analysis can be searched using the following link:

Our membership also offers access to iPOLL, a comprehensive database of 500,000 questions and answers asked in the US since 1935. The direct link to iPOLL is: iPolls.


ISR SURVEY DATA

ISR Canadian Election Study, 2000 The principal investigators for this survey were Andre Blais, Elisabeth Gidengil, Richard Nadeau and Neil Nevitte.

ISR Quality of Life Survey, 1977, 1979, 1981 This zipped file contains three SPSS sav files corresponding to three Quality of Life surveys conducted by the Institute of Social Research at York University.
ISR ESC Survey , Wave 1 (1999/2000) The Equality, Security and Community survey is conducted by the Institute of Social Research at York University as part of the Canada-wide ESC project.
ISR Male-Female Dating Relationships in Canadian Universities and Colleges (1992) The principal investigators (DeKeseredy, Kelly) were seeking to determine the incidence, prevalence and sociodemographic correlates of the physical, psychological and sexual abuse of women in university and college dating relationships
