Archives Book Collection (HIL-SPECAR) contains books, pamphlets, and periodicals relating to the Maritime Provinces, and New Brunswick in particular. Researchers should note that copies of items in this collection are frequently available in the open stacks or in the Microforms Dept. (3rd floor).
UNB Theses Collection (HIL-SPECAR) contains preservation copies of more than 6,000 dissertations, theses, and reports that have been accepted by UNB's School of Graduate Studies. Most are also available in the Microforms Dept. (3rd floor).
Rare Book Collection (HIL-SPECRB) largely consists of books from King's College Library (1829-1859). Also included are books published pre-1900 in or about Canada, and a number of eighteenth, nineteenth, and twentieth century periodicals.
Beaverbrook Collection of Rare Books (HIL-SPECBC) includes first, autographed, and special editions; books about Lord Beaverbrook; miniature volumes; Bible commentaries, sermons, and theological treatises by Calvin and Knox; and early Canadiana.
Rufus Hathaway Collection of Canadian Literature (HIL- SPECH) includes books, periodicals, manuscripts, and clippings collected by the renowned bibliophile Rufus Hawtin Hathaway. It is strong in first, special, and variant editions and the complete works of writers such as Bliss Carman, Charles G.D. Roberts, Duncan Campbell Scott, and Francis Sherman.
Marguerite Vaughan Collection (HIL-SPECVA) holds a number of specially bound and illustrated editions, including many from the Limited Editions Club. Also included in the collection are facsimiles of the Book of Kells and the Domesday Book.
Uncatalogued Special Collections includes several small, but important, private book collections. The Constance Montgomery-Campbell Collection includes volumes from the library of loyalist John Saunders and that of his son John Simcoe Saunders. Private literary collections donated by Lady Joan Roberts, John Carman Wilcox, William Carman Roberts and Edith Roberts are also held here. **These collections are not found in QUEST.
